Recreation
A collection within the exhibit "Migrant Children", "Recreation" displays a sundry of media to collectively illustrate a single aspect of the multifaceted lives led by Okie children. When Ruthie and Winfield stay at the government camp in Weedpatch for the first time in Chapter 22, Ruthie stumbles across some kids playing croquet and forces herself into the group because she also wants to play. Croquet courts and other outdoor activities were common attributes of migrant-run government camps, clearly making recreation a significant part of the experiences Okie children involved themselves in as part of their new lives in California.
